1.Scope

This policy covers the personal data Rivvo processes when you use the Rivvo website and mobile app. The data controller is RIVVO GAMES LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17500514), with its registered office at 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE, United Kingdom.

2.What we collect

  • Account data — username, email address, password (stored hashed, never in readable form), date of birth, gender if you provide it, and your country.
  • Gaming identity — the in-game ID you compete under, your platform, and your favourite team.
  • Contact data — your phone/WhatsApp number, if you add one. It is shared with an opponent only while you have a pending fixture against them, so you can arrange the match, and it is withheld once the match is over.
  • Competition data — entries, results, scores, standings, disputes and the decisions taken on them.
  • Wallet data — your balance and the ledger of entry fees, refunds and prizes.
  • Match photos — the screenshots you send as proof of a result. See section 3.
  • Device data — a push notification token if you use the mobile app, and basic technical data (IP address, browser/app version) needed to serve and secure the platform.

We do not collect payment card details on our own systems, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.

3.Match photos — read this one

A result in Rivvo is proven by a photograph of the final score screen. When you send one:

  • The image is stored by Rivvo as the evidence for that match.
  • The image is sent to a third-party AI vision provider (Anthropic) to read the score and the in-game IDs. The provider processes the image to return that reading; it is not used to train their models.
  • Where the reading is uncertain or contested, a human organiser at Rivvo views the photo to rule on the match.
  • Your opponent can see the score that was filed. They do not receive your photo file.

Photograph the game screen only. Anything else caught in the frame — a room, a person, a reflection — is sent along with it.

4.Why we use it, and on what basis

  • To run the service you asked for (contract): your account, tournament entries, fixtures, results, wallet and prizes.
  • To keep competition honest (legitimate interests): reading and verifying result photos, detecting duplicate accounts, collusion and manipulated evidence, and ruling on disputes.
  • To tell you what is happening in your tournament (contract): kick-off pings, deadline warnings, results, prize notices. These are service messages, not marketing.
  • To meet legal obligations: age verification, financial records and responding to lawful requests.
  • Marketing (consent), if and when we offer it — always with a way to opt out.

Each processor acts on our instructions under a data processing agreement. Some competition data is public by design — your username, in-game ID, avatar, level, results and ranking position appear on boards and profiles other players can see.

6.International transfers

Some of the processors above operate outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where data is transferred there, it is protected by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved mechanism.

7.How long we keep it

  • Account data — while your account exists, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Competition results — kept as part of the permanent competitive record (rankings and tournament history), with your identity reduced to a display name after account closure.
  • Match photos — kept while the match can still be contested or reviewed, and for a limited period afterwards as evidence of a settled dispute.
  • Financial records — kept for the period required by law.

8.Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent. Write to the address in section 11 and we will answer within the legal time limit.

You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9.Cookies and local storage

Rivvo uses browser storage for things the product cannot work without: your session token, your language, and small preferences such as which tournaments you starred. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

The full list is in our Cookie Policy.

10.Children

Rivvo is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if we learn an account belongs to one, we close it and delete the data.
